Hi,
NOF 11 had somewhat slow responding text fields but one could get along with but now, in NOF 12, slowliness starts to get really annoying. Is my computer too slow for NOF 12 ? AMD Phenom X4/3.0 GHz ?
Kind regards,
Richard

Richard,
Do you by any chance have lots of fonts installed? Just asking because someone mentioned recently that lots of fonts can cause slowness. I've dealt with that slowness in NOF 10 with one web site but haven't worked on that website with NOF 12.

Hi
I have 1654 fonts installed and have no problem with text imput at all. My machines are quite powerful though one an i5 with 8gb ram and the other an i7 with 16gb ram which obviously helps loads.
I need these installed for all the design work I do in other formats ie CoralDraw, Photoshop and In-Design. Hope that helps.
Regards
Tim
Hi, no, there are 242 objects shown in the \Fonts directory of Windows 7-32. 6 Gb RAM in computer, 3,15 Gb usable anyway. Most fonts cannot be deleted beacuse they're 'protected system fonts'. This is a nuisance, really! I'm using NOF for quite some years now but I'm seriously thinking about jumping ship! Kind regards, Richard
If you start a new blank site (File > New Site > Blank Site) go to the only page and draw a text box. Is text entry slow on a 1 page site ?

Hi gotFusion, thanks for the suggestion! Indeed, when starting a blank web site, text input is fast enough! So, can we conclude then that a web site with 73 pages and lots of text and only a few small images is too big for NOF 12? To me, it just looks like that! Kind regards, Richard
I have worked with sites with over 900 pages using thousands of images and no slow down.
What I can say is that you have an issue somewhere in your site project file that you need to look into before it gets too bad and crashes.
I would suggest you start by exporting/importing as this clears up a lot of the internal issues. Do that then see if you have an improvement, if not come back and I will tell you where to start looking on your pages for problems. Use a different name when you import

Hi gotFusion,
after performing the suggested procedure input appeared to be quite better. However, after a few hours with NOF 12 I'm back to the unbearably slow input behaviour! Btw, the process of export / import revealed that NOF 12 has problems to identify download links (external file links) and to handle them properly. Quite a few were deleted. Which cripples a web site to some extent, uh? So, next step: I'm going back to NOF 11 - where input speed is just fine. After that, I'll wait for an update / service pack for NOF12 and if there's none which is bettering the situation, I'll switch over to another tool. Thank you! Richard
