Working with assistant designer w NOF11 & NOF10
I'm working with an assistant designer and we both are currently working
with NOF10. She just purchased her NOF10 and does not want to spend another
$110.00 when she has only had her software for a month! I want to upgrade
to NOF11. Will we still be able to work on the same sites if she is on 10
and I'm on 11?
Thanks,
shara

Re: Working with assistant designer w NOF11 & NOF10
In basic terms, no.
Options would be:
* Leave NOF10 installed & use that for collaborative sites, 11 for
'solo' sites
* Download nPower10 & use that for collaborative sites (no nPower11 yet)
* Stay at NOF10 (which would be a big shame, there's some really neat
new features in 11)
* Pull in a project which would absorb the cost of NOF 11 upgrade :-)
Might be worth tackling WSP to see if they'll cut your assistant a deal
on a 10-11 upgrade if she literally only purchased 10 a month ago.
Comments in other groups suggest you might not get too far, but don't
ask, don't get...

Re: Working with assistant designer w NOF11 & NOF10
For a month, she should get a FREE upgrade.
I've had this happen to me a few times in the past with other software
companies and always got the free upgrade.
One company gave me half off for an upgrade from a jump of several major
revisions to the most current release. I think they wanted to keep me as a
customer. They did.
I guess it's up to the company to set their policies in situations as this
but the long term benefit of taking care of their customer base has to
offset the cost of additional advertising required to overcome the bad PR
generated by treating customers poorly. Good Will is probably one of the
most valuable assets a company can have.
You have to ask. The company may not even be aware that this may be a
problem.
