Default OMG! I'm losing my mind!

Why can't I get this? I have the notes and the book in front of me. How do I publish a new site over an old site???? I'm going crazy! Does anyone have a step by step?
I keep getting a "configuration" problem?
    help please................
    BTW, same- server.

    RG7209,

From the sounds of it you are using NOF's built in FTP capability? Personally a I prefer to use an external FTP client, so I publish locally and upload using CuteFTP Pro.

If it's a new site you'll need to set up a publishing profile and enter your ftp username and password and other details. There's a TEST CONNECTION button so you can see if it works before uploading. Once that's done just hit PUBLISH SITE and up it goes. Do you have a new FTP Publish profile in your NOD file?

What is the "configuration" error message exactly?

I routinely update a couple of web-sites and simply use the NOF11 "Publish"
FTP facility. Just set up the server details including server access
username & password, target folder etc. I generally "publish" all pages,
but select "publish changed assets only".

If you need more info on server details, etc, get back to us.

If uploading via Cute FTP - which files does one upload? Thanks. Michael

Kinda depends on what you've published. If it's a whole site you need to upload everything that appears in the Local Publish folder. If you just update a page you can just upload the html document and anything that appears in the layout such as images from the assets/images folder. If you create or update a contact page with a form you need to upload that html page plus the scripts folder. If you modify the site style .css file you need to upload that.

If you want to publish your site via Cute FTP you have to publish locally first. NOF creates a folder Local Publish, and the CONTENT of this folder is supposed to be uploaded to the server.

oooops, took me too long to type.... Sry Paul

Hello again, just wanted to say, I was truely losing my mind, but I focused and pulled through. But I must say also,
"sarah palin voice" that the responses were not taken without gratitude! I learn so much here! There seems to be no bound
    of wealthy knowledge!
