Lightbulb Broken Upload should to be continued

    Hi there!

I'm living in South Africa and I am working via Mobile Phone in the Internet.
Here's no flatrate, we have to buy every MB!

When I start an upload with NOF, and the connection is disconnected,
I must start again to upload everything. If you have a website with 120 pages,
its boring! At the moment I upload every single site individually.

There should be a possibility to carry on with an upload later.

As an example take PICASA from Google.

If and upload is stopped, the program goes on later.

    Greetings,

    Bee

    Hello Bee,

S.A. is such a nice place to be :-)

Thanks for your good suggestion! Meanwhile: Have you thought of using an external FTP Programm for uploading?

    Hi Barbara,
    I'm using Filezilla additionally.

But only to upload external galleries or clear the webspace.

    Greetings,

    Bee

OK, so you can use FileZilla instead of NOF for publishing. If the line is interrupted you can carry on uploading later. You know how it works?

... sorry Barb but I would not suggest to upload everything with "Filezilla", because newbies do not know what to upload with Filezilla (especially using NOF components you might have to work with 3 or 4 different directories) and you can't upload each time the whole content of the folder "Local Publish" because this might need hours if you have large projects like 300-500 pages.

The default setting on Filezilla is to upload files only if the remote file differers in size, otherwise skip.

The easiest way is to select site root on local and remote then let the FTP program sort out what is different and needs to be uploaded.

This can be a problem if you have not changed enough on the page to make the file size change (changing a non cap letter to a cap letter will keep the file size identical even though it has been changed). This is a rare exception but something that should be kept in mind.
