Cannot start Fusion 8 any more

I have been using Fusion 8 for quite some time without any problems. Some years ago I had updated it from a previous version.
Now I have made a copy of the program, using a dvd. But to my dismay I cannot start the program any more, neither from my hard disc nor from my dvd. A popup tells me that different versions cannot be run simultaneously, and thast I should close the previous version first!?
Can someone let me know what I can do in order to be able to start the program again?

Open task manager and see if you have Fusion running. If you find it, stop it. You can also reboot your computer which should close down any rogue instances of Fusion which did not shut down properly.
