My company's web site has evolved over the last 10 years. Originally
written in an early version of NOF and upgraded to each version since,
now NOF 11. It's now has over 230 pages, has over 1300 image assets, and
the NOD file size is about 20MB. (http://ATSComms.com)
While I have had some interesting issues with it over the years, the
site file has been relatively stable until now.
Recently, I started seeing some unusual behavior. First it was errors
writing to memory. Then reports of missing assets - which weren't
missing at all. Then it would crash the program if you tried making any
changes. Then it wouldn't open at all and would crash the program if I
tried to open it.
I did get a backup file to successfully open with all assets present and
accounted for, and saved it as a difference name. But when I tried
opening the newly named file, it failed and crashed the program, citing
an error writing to memory.
NOTE that no other application reports memory problems, and a memory
check passed 100%.
So here I am, with my company's web site frozen in time, and no
appreciable help from NOF support.
Of course, Support is of little help, taking days for each response with
simplistic canned solutions, and no apparent interest in diagnosing or
debugging the problem. Since the elimination of telephone support,
community support has been way more helpful and infinitely more
knowledgeable. So I come once again to the wise men & women who might be
my only chance for recovery.
Thank you,
Marty
