    Default Hard drive fried

Lost my hard drive and was just wondering, have most of my files backed up
but had not baked up the last couple days(ok maybe a week) how can I use
files that are sitting on the server which have been published and are the
newest to recover files on my computer.

    Thanks Pete

The best way is to open the site in Fusion with the last backup you can recover.

Go to the web site and copy paste the text from there to the new pages you need to create in Fusion.

Make sure you have your paste option in Fusion set to plane text before doing any copy/paste from other documents.

You can try sticking your hard drive in a freezer for a day, then remove it and plug it in. If your problem is a spindle motor or bearing the drive will run for a few minutes so that you can get your Fusion folders moved to another drive. A drive "toaster" works well for things like this as you just pop the drive right from the freezer into the docking station (no wires or cables to fiddle with)

Just a couple of questions on the HD. When you say fried, does it still spin up and not find an OS? or is it actually dead? If it still spins up you can put in a new HD and re-build your system, once that is done, just slave the old drive and you'll be able to get to all of your files.

I say fry, put one minute the computer will recognize that there is a HD in
the bios and the next minute it says there is no hard drive installed, have
not been able to get it up into windows to move the files.
Installed a new harddrive and working on get all my programs back. Will try
the freezer and see what happens

Boot into windows or even DOS using another hard drive or CD/floppy.

Address the problem drive as a normal (non OS) drive.

All you want to do is copy files, not try to get the drive to run windows.
