    Default Phantom Link can't be removed?

    Hi all,

    Have an older client web site that was done years ago in Fusion 10. The front page of the site is laid out using a table. In one cell of this table there is a list of upcoming events with links to external sites etc. Well, the client attempted to add a new event to the list and create a link to the event. She hadn't done "links" before and I explained via phone that it really wasn't difficult.

    The problem is that she added her text with the link which does in fact work but above her text Fusion is displaying (and publishing) just the link URL in blue... almost as if the link were added twice. To make matters more confusing, I have deleted all text and link content in that cell and Fusion STILL shows the link in preview and publish. I can see it in the HTML but of course you can't actually edit the HTML code in Fusion so what should be an easy fix is a serious head banger.

    This is the code I see in HTML code preview:

    !-- [END PRE-Cell41 Link] -->

    <a href="http://specialevent.thewebsiteurl.com/" NOFINSIDE="~! ~!" >
    specialevent.thewebsiteurl.com/
    </a>
    <!-- [BEGIN POST-Cell41 Link] -->

    As I mentioned, the cell is completely blank right now so I cannot figure out why I'm still getting this silly phantom link in each preview or publish. Anyone else ever have the happen?

    In situations like this is usually faster to delete the page, crate a new one, and populate it again rather than trying to find out what happened and fix it

    You can click the html button on the properties palette and see if you find your phantom code

    If that were an option I think I would have already done it. Trouble is that the client is in FL and isn't computer or Fusion savvy and I'm in MN. I got her to send me her NOD file so I could at least look into the issue on my end (remote assist wouldn't work for her naturally) so I need to figure it out and document it in a fashion that is easy for a non-techie to follow. Fun eh?

    I may just have to edit out the phantom code in her html each time she updates the web site. Ugh

    And yes, I can click on the cell and DO see the offending code within the cell when I hit the cell html button. I just can't figure out how it got buried in there or how to kill it.

    Have them follow this tutorial and email you the template http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=16

    You can import the template, correct the problem, then email them back another exported template. They can follow this tutorial to get the corrected site back into their copy of the product: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=17

    Ah, thanks for that. I'll have them give it a whirl and see if I can get it resolved for them.
