Default Secure Page In NOF 10

In NOF10, I am attempting to add the Secure Page component to a page on my
web site. It appears to go on OK and I record the address for the database
store. I have created a simple temporary one record CSV file of
"name, password" and placed it in the db folder both on my live site and my
local test site. Obviously at present I only wish to use the secure page
    on the local test site.

I published the site locally and everything appears OK but, when I try to
access the Secure Page, instead of being asked for name and password, I am
presented with a page of html script. It appears to be a page that should
display if there is an error and contains a number of messages that would be
    displayed dependent on circumstances.

Any ideas where I am going wrong? I have not pasted the displayed html
code but can do so if it helps.

Long answer.......... You cannot run dynamic scripting languages on a "normal" computer. If you wish to see the page on your home computer you need to install a web server and the dynamic language you are using, then run the pages via http just like you would on the internet.

short answer..... Upload to a test folder and test using your web host.

I wondered after if something like that might be the case. I will attempt
to set it up on the server as you suggest.

Thank you for the heads up.

Create a second remote profile in Fusion called TEST.

    Append: /test

to your remote directory and do a full site publish.

Then to see your test area access it via http://www.yourDomain.com/test/

Just don't forget to select your live remote publish profile when you want to upload live pages

Thanks for that. I was wondering how to go about it. It seems fairly
foolproof, even I should be OK.
I will be having a go later in the week.

I had an hour to spare so have created the test directory and uploaded my
test site to it. The secure page login now opens very nicely but I have
run into another problem as a result. When I put in a user name and
password, whether it be correct, incorrect or even left blank I get:
"An error occured. Please contact the site administrator.

    Error code: 602"

I cannot find error code 602, or indeed any error codes in the help files.
Is there somewhere that I can find out what it means (and of course, what is
wrong). The Secure Page properties are set to open a child of the secure
page when a valid login is used. The csv file of logins is set in the form
of username, password and the logins consist of a name and number (e.g.
bloggsj,1234). I know that this is not the most secure protection that can
be used but there is nothing sensitive in the secured section and the
intention is more to dissuade non members of the club from viewing less
    public items.

I have only used the Secure Page item from the component set and wondered
whether anything else needs to be set up to let it work correctly. As you
probably can tell, I am new to the world of web site creation and learning
on the job so to speak.

The 602 error is typically associated with the database file or folder not being found. Did you run the wizard to create the database file and folder?

If your secure requirements are not all that complex you may be able to use your hosting folder protection settings. Depending on who your web host is and what control panel they offer this can be very simple to set up.

Here are my secure folders tutorials for my web hosting to give you an example (your hosting may be different so you may need to ask your web host)

    Windows:

    http://www.gotfusion.com/support/tut...m3_secure.html

    Linux:

    http://www.gotfusion.com/support/tut...3-protect.html

As I said your host may be totally different.

Thanks Mike. I ran the wizard to create the folder and file on the main
site but did not on the test site. I will do that and see what happens.

I have already looked on my web host's site (www.one.com) to see if they
offerred anything along the lines you mention but could not find anything.
I will drop a note to their support people and see what is available.
    Thanks again.

I have been in touch with my hosts who have a package that protects folders
but that is not really what I require. However, they also took a look at
the test site and have come back with the following information

    <Start quote>
have tried logging into the members only area on
www.probus-teddington-hampton.org.uk/test to recreate the error. It
redirected me to the following URL:
    http://probus-teddington-hampton.org...s/ss_login.php Upon
inspecting this script it was found that it included nof_utils.inc.php as
the script containing the global variables. However, I could not locate any
relation to the flat file called users.csv within either of these scripts.
The users.csv file contains the valid usernames, and passwords, however
there is no query within your script to look into the users.csv file for the
login details. Due to this the login fails, as it has no valid credentials
    to load.
    <End quote>

Am I right in thinking that I have missed out a step somewhere in setting up
the Secure Page component and can anyone suggest what it is I need to do
please? I have looked at nof_utils.inc.php and, apart from identifying
that the major portion of it refers to emailing, I could make little of it.
