Default Mixing Wordpress with Netobjects Fusion

    Okay here goes another question,

I work both in Wordpress and of course Netobjects.

I have never mixed the two together in one site. The websites I work on are
either totally in Wordpress or in Netobjects.

What I'm asking is, can I have Wordpress in a the main directly, and
Netobjects in a subfolder and use links between the two so that it looks
    like a fully integrated website?

The reason being I like the blogging aspect of wordpress, but still like to
control my structural links in netobjects and any other static information.

Thanks for any help in advance,
    Sam

I would say if you are able to optically adjust your wordpress template (100%) to your netobjects Website (or viceversa) , you will be able to achieve your objective.

I would personally prefer not to completetely integrate the two, but to clearly link to your blog or to your website.

One solution that I've been using is to use an inline frame to display my blog inside my website. That way you have your same master border, but you just have you blog essentially as an object.
You'll probably need to change your blog's format a bit so that it will integrate seemlessly - get rid of the header, set it's background so that it's the same as your websites, make sure the text sizes/styles/fonts/colors are the same in the CSS sheets, etc.

If your host allows subdomains you could install wordpress on your subdomain, and then have it as blog.yourdomain.com, and then you'd benefit from name recognition instead of having it remotely hosted and having a blogname.wordpress.com address.

I Just tried it. Seems to be extremely simple.

I copied the page source from a random live Blog written with Wordpress (http://monicastangledweb.com/2010/10...l-family-tree/). Launched NOF, new site, home page & 2 child pages.
Set left and right master borders at 150 pixels and put a navbar in the left one.

Next, place a text box in the home page layout, right click in the box and select Text_Html. Then simply paste in the code from the Blog.

The Blog works normally, and the NOF navbar takes you to the rest of the site.

    Hi Sam,

I work in both as well, plus a few other tools.

It is quite easy to maintain links (menus) in Wordpress and I find it
is a greta tool for s imple brochure style website that needs CMS.

A couple I have in progress are:

    www.faces.flair.net.nz

    www.oxfordnewzealand.com

I doubt the average visitor would know these are done in Wordpress.

The problem I see with this method is that often the blog contains many many relevant and interesting informations for search engines, but if they are place in a frame, visitors will tend to land in the frame page.

Also for my perception blogs and websites are very different things. As a visitor I find it confusing to find myself in a mix-solution.

If the website has to be a blog, I only use wordpress and insert a few "website pages" in it.

If I need an extensive website and a blog, I do them separatey, and let the user know: this is my blog, this is my website.

That is why it is better to place the Blog in a text area with Text_Html

Search engines will find and index the Blog, and visitors will land on your site when reading the Blog.

    Wow,

    Thanks for all the responses!

Something to think about. I've got a couple of ideas on how to approach it.
Will have to work it on paper first and then expirement to see how it all
fits, and if its worth it. I do agree with not using the frames...

sORRY, GOT TO DISAGRRE. a WEBSITE AND ABLOG ARE ALL THE SAME TO SEARCH
ENGINES, AND A BLOG WITH RELEVANT CONTENT will get good rankings.

Instead of thinking of Wordpress as a blog platform think of it as a
    CMS.

Can you tell me the difference between www.oxfordnewzealand.com and
    www.oxfordnewzealand.co.nz?

Google seems to see and index both just the same and the average user
wouldn't have a clue about the tools used to create them although they
    are created using different tools.
