I just downloaded NetObjects Essentials to my new computer;
I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit;
I created my existing website using prior version of Essentials (August, 2009), on another computer, running Windows XP;
The new Essentials opens just fine on my new computer;

How do I recover my User Site data?
Is a seamless transfer even possible, or would I be better off rebuilding from scratch?

Open your site project on your old computer.
Export the site to template as explained in here: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=16
Import into your new version as explained here: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=17

Using Fusion Essentials, can I reconstruct my website (create a template) using the "htdocs" folder I just downloaded from my ISP (Network Solutions) to my desktop?

My copy of Essentials doesn not have File > Export as an option. I can save a site, save a site as, and import, but there is no export that I can see. I'm trying to find a way to have students back up their simple web site so that they can work in multiple locations safely.

If you follow the tutorial in order (step 1 then step 2 then step 3).

Step 1 is done in Asset view

Steps 2 and 3 are done in Site view
