Thread: Installation and Serial Numbers

    Default Installation and Serial Numbers

I'm hoping someone can help me - especially from NetObjects. I've used Netobjects for a long time, since version 5. I've gone through MX, 7, and my most recent version was 9. Anyway, my computer crashed and I've migrated to a new computer. Today I bought and installed the upgrade to version 11. However, I don't know my previous serial number as it was (obviously) in the old computer software, and in a file with notes on things such as that that was also on the old computer. Is there any way to look up my old serial number so I can finish the installation of my 11 upgrade? Please help if possible.

If you can get your old computer to run (even in safe mode) you can locate your old SN for all versions that were installed by looking in the system registry.

    Default Similar problem

I have a similar but not identical problem. I too lost my hard drive. I have keys for NOF 7, 9 and 11. I started with NOF 5, but I do not know where the CD is. I believe all others were purchased as downloads. I thought everything was backed up on Carbonite but for some reason, none of my NOF installation files were. So I re-downloaded the NOF 11 upgrade file and of course it tells me that no previous versions of NOF are installed on this disk.
What options do I have now?

If you have the SN/key for a previous qualifying version you can enter that during the install routine when you are asked for it.

    Default Thanks

I appreciate the reply but it never gets that far. It stops when I try to run the upgrade. As soon as I click on Set-Up it says, 'NetObjects Fusion 11 Not Detected. This update requires NetObjects Fusion 11. Please install NetObjects Fusion 11 and try again or you can choose auto update during the NetObjects Fusion installation.' The only choice after that is "OK".

I think you are trying to install Update not Upgrade. See the post I've just linked to, to see the difference.
