Default Can anyone recommend the best photo gallery for multiple pages

    Hi,
I want a better photo gallery than is included in Net Objects, for a real estate website. Can anyone recommend the best one. There are just so many available, I can't figure out the most suitable for NOF 11. I may possible have 250 or 300 galleries on the complete site. Any other info would be a great help. Thanks Paul Sanderson.

    Try this link list.
A few might be in German, but click through the list and the following links.
There is an endless choice, and some are really cute.

Thanks Mia. There is lots of info here, but quite a lot in German that I don't speak, and so many links to other photo galleries, that now I'm even more confused. I just need a simple and easy, clean looking photo gallery that is happy with NOF 11. All suggestions much appreciated. Best Wishes, Paul Sanderson.

    Well, the choice is endless.
And it's not the question if they might work IN NOF.
You can create them separate and just show them in your project by iFrame f.e.

You ask for a recommendation of a gallery.
    What should it look like?
    What is your idea?
If you want to have a more specific recommendation, just give more hints.

Thanks Mia, and I agree the choice is endless. I like Jalbum. "Galleria", "Simplicity" or "Compact", but I am happy to use anything similar .

I am not a web professional and I know very little about iFrame and don't understand f.e.?? Can you give me a simple explanation of using it.

I tried to use Jalbum, followed their tutorial exactly and deleted my 114 page website the other evening, so you can understand my caution. Best Wishes Paul Sanderson.

Cerate a directory called "album" from your root. Upload your jAlbum gallery to that directory. In NetObjects, create an Inline Frame (same toolbar as the text tool) to the size it needs to be and then set external link and the URL will be http://ww.YOURDOMAIN/album

For that link to work, make sure jAlbum has produced an index.htm, index.html or index.php page otherwise if its home page is something like homepage.html you will need to add that to the URL: http://ww.YOURDOMAIN/album/hoempage.html

Then in the Inline Frame Properties on the right, you can switch off the border ,set scrolling to "no" etc. That bit is up to you and your design requirements.

If you go with JAlbum make sure you don't choose a template which uses flash as iPhones and iPads do not support flash and we can expect more smartphone type devices coming on the market and an ever increasing % of the population accessing online information via these devices. IMHO, flash is on the way out on the web except for specific applications.

    Paul,

sorry when I used words not common to you.
f.e. was standing for "for example".
Like Andrew said already, create a gallery with any tool you might like.
Upload it to your server and show it with an iFrame.

And, I would prefer a non-flash gallery, since I use my iPad all day...

    Greetings
    Mia

Many thanks to Andrew, Franko and Mia, and excellent advice. iFrames is still a small problem for me, but I'm sure that I can work that out. Sorry to sound like such an amateur at this, but Andrew could you please explain"Create a directory called "album" from your root." What is my root? Great advice too about non-flash galleries from Franko and Mia. Best Wishes, Paul Sanderson.

The "root" directory is the "home" directory on your web host. Simply, the place the index.html (home page) sits. You would place a folder in there called album where all your other folders sit, like html and assets reside (if you've used the default NetObjects structure).
