Default Fusion XII Looks for Fusion 11 for Upgrade Install?

    Quick Question...

    Just being SURE of this...

If we on-line purchase and download Fusion XII via the:

    NetObjects Fusion XII Upgrade ESD

then when Fusion XII installs, it will "see" my full existing NOF 11 install, and properly install XII with no grief -- seeing that we qualified for the Upgrade.

    All correct ?

Also, we note the process to Template over 11 sites to 12 via the usual Template / Assets Verify / Optimize / Export as Template (OR) we can also do it via having the same User file structure and location for both NOF 11 and XII.

Just making REAL sure about the XII Upgrade will see NOF 11 installation and proceed -- before buying online.

    Thank you all.

The installer looks in the system registry for any previous installed versions (even if they have been uninstalled the SN/key will remain in your system registry).

If you have a clean OS install and never installed any previous versions (purchased them but did not re-install them on the new OS) you will be ASKED to enter the SN of a previous version during the install process.

    SO....

    As long as you have:

    1. installed fusion on the computer in the past

    2. have a SN from a previous version

You can use the upgrade version of 12

For your second part. ALWAYS use the export/import template first. If you have issues then you can try to copy an old user site in to the 12 user sites area and open the old site. NEVER open an original site project from a previous version as fusion is NOT backward compatible (i.e. you can never open the project in the older version after opening it in the newer one). ALWAYS open a copy of the original AND always make a copy into the proper version user sites folder, never open an older site project in the older version user sites folder.

    Thanks, Mike.

As like earlier versions, the above is how I usually do the Big Changeover, using the Template save as scenario, not the "well, try to open the previous versioned site files directly as NOD's"

I appreciate the list to observe as well!
