Thread: Where's my Online View?

  1. #1

    Default Where's my Online View?

OK, bit bullet, upgraded to 12 but no Online View for 12 or 11. I press the Online button over and over. Nothing.

    Yes, I am online.

Yes, I used to get Online view in 11.

Installed 12 on a Win7 Ultimate box. Now running on a WinXP Pro SP3, no change.

I'm clueless. Any one out there got a clue?

On your Win 7 box can you confirm that this file was created after install?
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\NetObjects Fusion 12.0\Online\index2.html

Also what version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Yep, can see that file, IE8.

For some reason Win7 now showing, but not on XP. Maybe those files are missing on XP. I'll take a look later, but Win7 is where I am at. The name ain't as sexy as Vista, but at least it's stable. :-)

On XP the file should be at a slightly different location:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\NetObjects Fusion 12.0\Online\index2.html

If it is missing on XP it might be due to user privileges, try installing as an admin user.

    Hi,

I am having the same trouble on XP with v12 not showing online view and not allowing create site by wizard to run. Also, MLR does not work, adding new entries to an MLR causes the MLR to expand the depth of page, but dopes not add new tabs.

I have the files listed above in the location specified, however, when I try to open index2.html, I get an active-x warning. I allo active-x, then get an add-on failed to run, check explorer security settings for possible conflicts. Any idea which one(s)?

    XP SP3 IE 8

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks

The Internet Explorer security settings could be interrupting the required communication between Fusion and the browser + Internet. Try reseting the security settings to their defaults.

    1. Tools > Internet Options > Security
    2. For the Internet zone: Medium-high
    3. For the Local intranet: Medium-low

Third party AntiVirus or Firewall software can also sometimes cause undesired effects. You can temporarily disable those while trying to narrow down the issue.

    Settings as above.

AV is Eset NOD32, no difference running or not.

Still looking for a solution ...

    But thanks for trying.

    Problem solvered ...

    Too weird for words.

Log on as myself, no work, even though admin rights.

    Run as> Me - works
