    Default One group per version

Everyone like the new slimmed down newsgroups?

One group for each version of the product.

    What I'm wondering is:
What happens to all of that great information that was contained in those
threads? This is (was?) an excellent resource for tips, tricks, fixes,
    scripts, etc.

Sure you could ask all the same questions again, and certainly the helpful
and knowledgable colleagues here are usually happy to help. But sometimes
there is a snippet of something in a previous thread that makes it click. Or
a link to a great script resource. Or sometimes the regulars get weary of
answering the same simple questions over and over and there is no response
    to a new question.

Anyway, I'm tossing this out in the hopes that there is a way to create some
sort of archive of the other discussion groups.

Exactly. I had a number of posts marked as useful references in those
    forums, and they're gone now.

    Allison,

Chris at NetObjects is checking with IT.

The deleted groups posts were supposed to be merged into the General
    discussion group that remains.

am I misunderstanding something? they have _deleted_ all the other
newsgroups? for "easier management"? I can't believe it.

this would mean that the help that their own support didn't want to give
but that was offered here, was deleted deliberately. that's the reason
    why I can't believe it.

Sadly, Peter, I think yolu're right. A valuable resource just ripped
and dumped. And to save what? 5 cents a day?

I believe the idea was to make it easier for users. No multiple groups to
cross-post in, to look for topics if they weren't sure which group was for
    what, and so on.

Certainly not to make it easier on NetObjects.

    Not a lot of "management" being done anyway. (-;

If all of the old posts are preserved and merged into the one group for the
version of Fusion, that would be fine with me.

If they are all gone, that would not be a good thing.

That's why I asked Chris and he's looking into it.

    Hmmmmm.... wonder where nPower went.....

I have to agree with Chuck. Many of the groups had little or no recent
activity anyway. So I appreciate the consolidation.

FYI: When I find a post I'm interested in keeping, I copy it to a Keepers
folder on my Hard drive. :-)
