I posted a question awhile back about getting table rows to be a consistent height and I thought I'd figured out the answer today, which was to set the table properties height and width to auto, as well as the row properties height and column properties width. Doing so seemed to make the table adjust to the contents properly, at least in design view.

I added a cell padding of 5.

In design, the table looks correct, with all entries on a single line (no wrapped text) and all rows the same height. However, in preview mode, one entry wraps. I could understand this if the table ran out of room in the layout area, but it's not even half the width. There's plenty of room for the table.

Any idea why this happens? Should I just adjust the column widths manually (by dragging the divider lines) so there's some "slop"? (Manual adjustment does seem to work.)

This is a puzzle. I'd like to get it to work. I know if I don't, there will be students asking about it.
