Can't upload and can't save as Template

I am using Windows XP with Service 3 Pack.
Three years ago I built a site using Fusion 8. I have updated it successfully numerous times. Recently I have been unable to open it to update it. I have rebuilt the site again using Fusion 8, this has taken several months.

To prevent losing it all again I tried to save it as a Template. This failed.

When I tried to upload it, it published up to 99% and then this message appeared.
Can’t create directory: C:\Program Files\NetObjects\NetObjects Fusion 8\User Sites\War mem in NI\Local Publish\:\DOCUME~\ken\LOCALS~1\Temp\msoclip1\07\

How do I get it to work?

Once it is working can I update it to Fusion 11 or 12?

Looks like you've pasted in formatted content from Microsoft Office.

A very bad idea. You should find and remove, along with the MS formatting code that will appear in Layout HTML.

You can paste the text back in again, after running it through Notepad or using the Paste Special Unformatted option in Fusion.

After you've cleaned up the mess, you should be able to export a template.

(the "msoclip1" is the telltale from Office)
