It's NOF 10. Please see the following that more fully explains my problem.
I update our church web site each month with info from our newsletter.
http://www.mtvernonpc.org and http://www.mtvernonpc.com I added one page for
this month and now it freezes the whole program when I try to open it. I was
able to update all the other pages in the program for February properly
otherwise. This last one sticks up everything I have not been able to
publish February's issue.
When you try to open the problem page, the area where it should show up is
blank (the window does show toolbar buttons like normal) and the cursor
stays as an hourglass - it will not change and nothing else happens. (I have
tried leaving it go overnight to see if it ever loads - nothing.) then I
have to click the red box with the white x (close program at the top right
of any window) 2 times to close the program. It does not save at this point.
When I try to reopen the site, it tells me NOF has detected an unstable file
and recovers from there, but the same thing above happens when I try to
access that one page. All the other pages work except that one. I'm using
Master Borders and Flash Navigation on a windows xp machine.
I've tried...
1. removing page - from site view and outline view
(I don't really need this page - if you can help me get it out of my "site"
(8-}) that will be a relief
2. renaming page
3. renaming the entire site
4. saving as a template
5. retrieving last month's site from the internet (it tells me it's can't
connect to the home page even if I do or don't connect)
6. tried the new nof essentials free version - but version 10 is too old it
says. (could I cut and past the code? what should I remove from the version
10 file to remove the reference to the old version?)
7. tried loading the preview files into something like coffee cup - too much
coding
8. I tried checking exclude from navigation, don't publish and did not check
done in page properties.
The program won't let me go completely through actions like spell check, or
publish.
Is there another program (free?) that I can use just to get this page
removed and the site published?
I'm really stuck and this should have been published for February 1. I can't
do anything else at this point. I don't have time to do this all over from
scratch, but it sounds like the only way.
Thank you for your help again.
