Default Image problem. Is this the end of NoFfor me after 15 years?

Just started a new site. Developed the graphics, imported into Styles, set the type style for the buttons. Started the layout. Now the type on the buttons looks just fine in page view. Switch to Preview and the type is broken up badly, so much as to be unreadable. Do a local publish and check. Same thing - crap. OK, forget about v12 and re-do the site in v11. Same result! Now I've never had this problem in v11 before. Tried it on 2 different machines, an XP desktop and a Win 7 laptop. Same result. Looks fine in Page View, crap in Preview and published. This is because of a problem with GIF transparency in those buttons when the buttons are generated when you publish.

It's a problem in buttons and navbars that aren't rectangular in shape and have transparent areas.

NetObjects has committed to fixing this in the first update for 12.

    You have my sympathies, Franko.

I have suffered similarly. This has taken up so much of my time for absolutely no gain.

Can't wait for the fix to get back to creating with confidence.

Yep, it's when I place the nav bar within a layout region which has either a colour or an image as a background (strange because I'm sure I've done this in the past). Pity because I now have to revisit the design to make it work.

    Default Update

Committment is fine but there is not estimate from NetObjects as to when this will be. I have problems with the banner on ALL my web pages created in 11 showing up as a black rectangle. I have submittd samples to NetObjects and they confirm there is a problem but have not responded as to estimate when it wil be fixed or even how I will be notified!

It may be time to look for another program.

The first update to 12 will probably be out before the end of the month.

    My guess, not an announcement.

I had this problem and managed to get around the problem which occurred with
white text by changing the button text to a very light shade of grey, seemed
to do the trick for me.

    HI Chuck

Any update are we talking end of Feb? end of Mar?

I've had to revert back to NOF11 as this is such a big issue in NOF12?.

I also wondering if it may also be impacted by a windows update?
My NOF11 site is now displaying similar issues. I just made an update. See left naviagation banner which used to be a transparent set of images.... ditto top banner (except on home page).

I thought it might be the transparetn gifs p1 to s4 and banner in the style folder. SO much so I checked tme out in photoshop and when that die not work I copied over the images from an old backup...neither of which fixed the problem?

    ummmmm

    Peter
