    Default Meta Tag Description

I have placed a different description for every page via the site view properties palette, then click save site. Upon opening the site again they are gone. Any ideas please.

Have you gone over this tutorial on the use of the site view meta tag generator?

    http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4052

It looks like you might have the "apply to all pages" box checked on a parent page that has a blank description meta tag.

This has started since a reinstall. I wanted a site map but it stated JDR not installed. So I did an uninstall and then a reinstall. Site map then worked OK. Then I noticed the meta tag descriptions on 36 pages were gone. So I added them in again (everyone is different), clicked save site. Did a preview and all OK. Did a publish, uploaded and checked the source code, no description. When I reopened NOF in site view, all descriptions were gone.

Clean up your work folders/files and do a full "local" publish. Check the page for the description meta tag. If it is still not there then there is a setting wrong in the meta generator. I always insert my meta tags manually (throw back to pre version 4 days). I still recommend that users manually insert metas via MB/layout html as it gives more control ....BUT.... I also "try" to support the "Fusion way" too

Post back once you have cleaned up, republished localy and tested

Have now discovered what is happening. Reintroduced all descriptions, saved site. All OK. Then from tools/re-optimise and all descriptions are gone.

Insert them manually using mb/layout html insert. Global ones via MB, page specific ones via layout. There are a couple of tutorials on GF but they are subscription level (tutorial #1 and #2... Rather important info)
