    Default FormsHandler.xml missing on publish

I'm getting the following error when I attempt to publish.

    Can't copy file: C:\Users\Steve Cannon\Documents\NetObjects Fusion 12.0\NetObjects System\Profiles\Steve Cannon\FormsHandler\FormsHandler.xml
The system cannot find the file specified.

I have to add.... I am so not impressed with the quality of NOF 12. The problems I've run into doing this simple web site are unbelievable given that we're on version 12 of this product.

Steve, I know this isn't going to help you a lot but this is a very common complaint. If you un-check the publish form handler component, the error message will probably go away and the form will probably work.

Like I said, not a lot of help and a lot of "probably" thrown in there as well. :-)

I so agree. It reminds me of the 1980's when we expected every new piece of software to be full of bugs.
Everything I have attempted on NOF 12 has been a challenge. I spent two days trying to publish a FAQ to find it what using a different database path for admin to the detail. The guestbook won't show captcha images and file such as above are completely missing.

I hope there is an update coming - and soon!

A common problem. Usually solved by:

Locate and move to the directory location Fusion provides, in your case:

    C:\Users\Steve Cannon\Documents\NetObjects Fusion
    > 12.0\NetObjects System\Profiles\Steve
    > Cannon\FormsHandler

is the location you want to move to.

Plug the above into the Address box in Windows Explorer, for example and
hit <RETURN> and it will jump to it for you.

Copy the Form Handler file found there to the new named one that Fusion
is looking for, in this case copy what's found to the new name Fusion is
    looking for:

    FormsHandler.xml.

Make SURE that FormsHandler.xml resides in the SAME directory as the
other named file that you copied it from.

In essence, you just made a second identical copy of the first file, and
gave that second copy the proper name.

This problem will be seen with other NOF 11 and NOF 12 Components that
    use the same directory ideas.

As far as a personal comment, isn't this situation totally sh***y ?

It's been this way maybe as far back as NOF 10 as well, but especially
seen in NOF 11 and 12.

    Where-o-where is our NOF 12 Update ?

BTW, it's VERY likely that the NOF 12 Update will NOT fix this problem
    at all.

Well, now test your various form(s) and all that you have invested into
NOF on your website, and if it all now works... then that's what it means.
