Default Metatags and my home page

I have a site that should be showing up somewhere in google search but it's not. Even when I search on the home url, kensingtonrunestone.us, I get sub pages not the home page. I think I may have messed something up making the home page not findable as the home page by the bots. If you google it you get a page titles in the search as Other Resources, but it is in fact the home page. I think this may be keeping it from coming up in a search of the narrow subject.

I have a sister website that is 4th in it's related subject area on a google search. I know search engines can be fickle, but I really think something is wrong here. Any thoughts much appreciated!

Your link to Other Resources is incestuous. It points to index.html. Are you
sure you wanted it to do this? If that is the case then it seems that Google
is pointing at your home page much as you would expect. In this case you
have called the text for the link Other Resources rather than Home or
something similar. Sounds about right to me.

Thanks but I'm not following you. There is no page called Other Resources and no such links. Obviously I'm missing something. Something is causing google to not evaluate it correctly when a search on the actual url doesn't find it. Do I have to redo the whole site or what?

I'll do that, thanks. I just can't help but think that I've corrupted something and it is affecting the google bot and resulting search placement.

If you go over the tutorial you will find a lot of improvement can be made on the page you posted. Start by giving the page another title besides "Home"

I don't think a lot of folks are going to be searching for your content by entering the word "home" in their search.

If they do, they will have to sift through 8 trillion 430 billion web sites to find yours ( obviously a lot of folks use Home as the title of their web pages)

OK thanks. I guess I was mislead by my other site which is related to this one and also has home as "home." It quickly went to #4 in google search.

I can go over the tutorial in here if you want

    Suggested improvements

Title (current) Home (just about anything else would be better)
Meta description (current) an overview of the Kensington Rune Stone and the latest scientific evidence (nice description but could be longer)
Header tags (h1 through h6) NONE all formating is inline html, no header tags used so no important content here.
    Image alt tags (not descriptive)

These are all the pages in the google index from that domain

You can see the page titles and the page descriptions. This is what will be show to anyone searching. This is where you should improve
