    Default Form Handler Corrupt

I've posted about this a few days ago. Submitted a ticket to support also. I
just want to clarify the issue here.

When I add form handler to the page, I do not have the options of adding
fields (elements) in Combo Box or Mulit-Line.

I cannot edit these at all. When adding or deleting a field, I get the
dialog box about changing field order will affect csv file. That box comes
up EVERY time I add/delete. It was working fine now for a year, but then
they just stopped working last week.

    I uninstalled/reinstalled NOF 11 (WIndows 7) run as administrator.

Does anyone know what might have caused this?

    Thanks a lot,
    Tom

And now I am getting this error when I publish....
    the file C:\Users\Tom\Documents\NetObjects Fusion 11.0\NetObjects
    System\Profiles\Tom\FormsHandler\FormsHandler.xml could not be opened.
Please check that the file exists as named.

In a pinch, I guess....I'd really like to know if my download got corrupted
or something. It just doesn't make sense that it would stop working.

    Here's a beginner's question:

If I want to use the form components (instead of form handler) could you
help me with the settings so the data can be stored on a csv file? Say my
csv is called TEST in a directory named DB. Say the URL is www.TEST.com
What is the (in full, please):
    1) csv file path
    2) file upload folder

I can get the success page all right as well as the email/server settings

    Thanks

The folders are randomly created by Fusion. See this tutorial on running the database wizard: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4072

Here is my formhandler tutorial if you want to go over that too: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4024

    Mike...
Thanks for the tutorials. They will come in very handy.

I just figured out the problem with my form handler!! I changed the Java
Runtime Environment back to the NOF version, and the form problem went away
    and works fine.

Do you know what this means? Do I need to update something else??

You can check which java version is installed on your computer from this URL http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

It will also let you update your version if it is not the latest available.

    ....

Hmm, that's interesting. That happened to me too, only it was so long ago
I'd forgotten and then attributed it to a bum java download. Fixed it the
    same way you did.
I'm not aware of Java not being backward compatible, but at least in this
case it seems it might be. I've always been told to not keep the old Java
downloads around due to holes in them, but ... I've had it set that way ever
    since then.
I haven't looked, but I suddenly wonder if NOF keeps its Java in a
different folder than the "normal" Java folder. That would say it wants a
speciific Java version/s kept available to it. Arrgh, that gives me a
    headache!
Here's hoping I tipped someone's memory and they'll agree or disagree
with me or more importantly explain something about it!

    HTH,

    Twayne`

    Yes Very interesting.

Are you saying that if you change the Runtime to NOF you don't get the xml
    file not found problem?

Yep, that's exactly the case. When I change Runtime to Java 1.6, I cannot
work with FormHandler. When changed back to "use version bundled with NOF",
it works fine. I do have all the latest Jave updates also.

Maybe you want to try (validate) it with a test FormHandler page and change
    the JRE???

    Thanks everyone for your help.
