Default Problems publishing - .nod format not accepted by host

Hi, I am new to this and am trying to build a site for my club.

I have a domain name and a host (onecom).

I have created a web page using Fusion and it saves as a .nod file.

When I try to upload it via file manager, it shows up, but my host says it isn't showing up, and that it needs to be an html file.

So how do I save my page as a html file instead of a nod file?

The pdf that I uploaded is apparently ok.

Sorry if this is a bit daft, I haven't been able to find a way to do this.

    Thanks in advance

    Flinty

You shouldn't upload your .nod file....

If you don' t want to use the FTP of NOF and prefer a seperate FTP program you should proceed like this:

First of all do a local publish with NOF.
This is when NOF creates a folder called Local Publish.
The content of this folder IS your website, html files and the lot....

Take a FTP programm of your choice, connect to your server and upload the CONTENT of the Local Publish folder.

The local Publish folder sits in your User Sites folder.
If you installed NOF under Programs the path should be something like that:
    C:\Programs\NetObjects\NetObjects Fusion Essentials\User Sites\your_project\Local Publish

Ok so I've I've found the folder and uploaded files in it to the server (I think) via my file manager and they show in the root index of my FTP.

How do I get to publish the site so that I (or anyone else can google it?

    Thanks

If you loaded the content of this local publish folder into the right place on your server, you should be able to see your site by now if you type your URL into the browser....

    You did right now....
and to find your site by Google, you have to wait for a couple of days till you are listed....

I think I'm getting the hang of it.

When I clicked on the index.html file in my FTP it displays my webage, but not any of the content. So my text banner is visible, but my rotating banner isn't. Neither are any of the images I placed in the margins , although the web counter is.

On the centre of the page there is no text visible but my google map is.

So how do I get the missing content to show up?

    Thanks again

    ?????

I think you are loading your site into the wrong place on your werbserver.
You should NOT be seeing files....

You should really contact your webhost and ask where you are supposed to load your site into.
Some providers allow the root, some want to have the site beeing loaded into the html folder.....
Before you haven´t sorted this, everything else is try and error.....

The link to my site is [URL="http://www.freedomtri-crowborough.org.uk/[/URL]

The tech support at my host say that I am published, which I think is true. I can find my site on explorer but not google (I understand that it may take a few days to show up on google).

When I do local publish in NOF it looks fine, all the content is there. when I copy the files (and I now copy all the files in the local publish folder) to the server via file manager and do do a preview, all i get is my header and the google map I embeded. The images and rotating banner do not appear. They appear as empty boxes.
The tech support say that I have to make sure that the html is pointing in the right direction. Not sure what that means.

    Any help will be appreciated.
