    Default Forms problem

I am trying to set up a form that gathers information like name, location etc. and then send the information to me via an email. I have, I think, the correct info in the
the file. I have publish the NOF forms handler checked. But when I publish I get "C:\Users\Mike\Documents\NetObjects Fusion 12.0\NetObjects System\Profiles\Mike\FormsHandler\FormsHandler.xml could not be opened. Please check that the file exists as named."
Yet when I check the doc is there.

Also, when I clik validate field, nothing happens.

While I would like to believe it is a NOF meltdown, I more inclined to operator error. Can someone recommend a good start to finish tutorial on forms?

    Thanks, Mike

I have a multi page tutorial on using the formshandler on the gotFusion web site that you might want to go over: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4024

I don't think you will find the answer to your problem in there but you still should go over the tutorial to get a handle on how the component works.

If think if you change your JRE from the default up to 1.6 you should resolve your problem. See this tutorial for details on how to do this: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/t...temID=4037#jre

Thanks for the help. I changed the JRE to 1.6 and followed the instruction form. I got this message when I published that the XML file could not be opened. When I attempted to use the form to send a message I got a 701 error code.

Seperate Question. Since the form is in Spanish, should I create new fields to have Spanish labels and not English?

I don't think it would matter about using English or Spanish as the code is written in English.

Did you run the database wizard ?

I would suggest you do this next to see if the issue goes away http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4072

If you still get errors when running the form (live on the web site) you may want to look into using 123contactform to create and process your form http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4075

Not sure what i did - except doing it over and over but it seems to work. Ran the database wizard and now it works. I am trying to get them to change to a US hosting company that offers email and actually has a help line. I appreciate the help.

According to Tom in the NOF11 group, He says: -

<When I change Runtime to Java 1.6, I cannot work with FormHandler. When
changed back to "use version bundled with NOF", it works fine. I do have all
    the latest Jave updates also.>

This is directly related to the .xml file not being found.

Don't know if that would help you.
