Exclamation major data loss, freeze up, publishing error's... I need help

I have built a site with essentials, (large site granted), I tried to publish it to inmotion hosting. when it got up there, basicly everything about the "store catalogs" was wrong, the link bar was "crushed" and not displaying correctly, non of the product pictures displayed, homepage did not display jpegs... I called inmotion tech support and they said site data was too big. so tryed to change jpegs to gifs, essentials froze, "unexpected shut down", when tryed to load site back up, "un-named file" no pic's display in catalog editor, no reason explained, all thumbs display "!" in 50 pix box and will not change size. tryed to recover from "local publish" ".... (multiple catalogs) to big to import.... import program ran for 18 hours, got to %50 and canceled because too many "to big to import"..... I need help to recover data that was originaly displayed in essentials before publish attempt... willing to pay for fusion 12, but need to know that it will work and publish correctly, and restore back-ups correctly..

Mythranders desperate.... and need help badly

You don't need a newer version of Fusion you need to get yourself a graphics editing program and compress your images.

350 meg for a single image is more than you can serve to a visitor. An image of that size will take over a full minute to load on its own even on a high speed connection.

You can use tools like this one that will give you load time to help you adjust between compression and view-ability.

You want to compress images for the web as small as you can without losing detail.

To read about the difference between compression size and physical size go over the info on these sites

I understand that the site needs to be compressed..... but that doesn't help with the major data loss, and essentials inability to restore back-ups correctly, if I can get back to where I was before the publish attempt, then I can compress everything and make it run smoother.... but I just can not loose a months worth of intense work..... how can I get it back to that point

I would suggest that you compress your images first. You can open the images in the assets folder, compress them, then save them over top of the large one by using the same name. That way Fusion won't need to handle images that large.
