Yep... IE9 did away with the title bar.

They kept the space where it was, but do not show it. Now instead of a nice page title at the top you have a block of wasted space instead.

Dumb move in my opinion. If you are going to remove something to make a product more compact, don't leave a big hole where it was.

IE9 was a "look at it quickly then remove" product for me. If they fix it, I might look again.

If you want to uninstall IE9 you can. You have to use control panel > add/remove/uninstall software... THEN on the left side bar click the text link "View installed updates", find IE9 in the list of updates and get rid of it.

    That is what I did<g>.

I only run IE9 in a copy of Windows under Virtualbox for testing.

Wouldn't it be great if there was only a single browser to worry about!!!

customize the toolbar, add the bookmarks button, apply and ok and the bookmarks button is gone

this only happens in Win7, it does not happen in XP and I don't know if it happens in vista?

btw, someone just told me that IE9 does show the page title when you hover over the blank space, now that is silly, I can't confirm because I uninstalled

IE 9 killed my right click CSS style sheet viewer. That alone made it a "must go away" product.

I had way too many issues with FF4. It too needs a little time to "mature". Many of the add ons for FF 3.x were DOA in 4

I saw the title bar squeezed into the tab tops but never could get it to display where it "used to display"

the way to get the title to show where it used to be is by disabling Aero and reverting to Windows Classic Theme

now, who would want to do that? I don't

I wouldn't want to do it either but it is good to know it "can" be re-enabled.

I still have not found anything to replace the old "right click view style sheet" add on for IE 4-8. Until I find a utility that lets me view web site style sheets easily I am going to stick with IE 8
