While we're there Mike, would you know (or anyone) the nuances of the Google Analytics Code?

Just before the </head> tag as it's stated here:
    http://code.google.com/apis/analytic...cTracking.html
Or just before the </body> tage as it's stated here (NOF's insertion point):
    http://www.google.com/support/analyt...5480&utm_id=ad

(ansynchronus vs traditional) Google's site is kinda loaded with geekorhea

    TIA

Hmmmm....well I manually insert the code as close the the </head> as I can. For no real reason other than it keeps it out of the way!

Wouldn't it be great if there was only a single browser to worry about!!!

Speaking of sitemaps, I asked a question in NOF11 about this but got no response. Is the sitemap function working okay in 12 because just recently, the one in NOF11 has been creating my sitemap with errors. It has been putting " index.html" in every url in the map, making all the page locations incorrect. I have had to stop using this function and resorting to creating the sitemap elsewhere. Support just responded to me, but basically explained how to add META tags to your page. They did not address the issue at all. I guess no one else has experienced this problem or they just don't use this function at all.

I always create my maps here and then manually upload them to the server.

That's the same place I just started using to create my maps. Strange though, I have 163 pages in my site and yet it is only creating a map for 83. I have done several requests but come back the same. Am I doing something wrong?

It should index up to 500 pages so can't answer that. I haven't had a problem but then I rarely do a web site with more than 100 pages these days. Not like the old days - the old 3Com site had close to 50,000 pages before we put it into a database. They do have an unlimited sitemap generator for just $19.99 which is a php script that runs on the server. Haven't needed it but it looks like good value.
