    Default NOF10 compatibility with Windows 7, 64bit

    NOF10 installed
All updates up to & inc 5 installed
Fusion.exe properties, compatibility tab, changed to allow program to "run as administrator"

Run NOF10 and first problem is a script error:

    error: access is denied
    URL: http://netobjects.com/en/nof/10/00/ov/rss/xmlextras2.js

Not sure what this message means.

If I turn off scripts and continue to say create a new site, at the point I try to save the site, window received stating "Netobject Fusion has stopped working". Only option is a button to close program.

Have tried running in compatibility mode with earlier OS (all options available) but problem remains.

Pulling my hair out over this one. Any ideas anyone ? It's looking like NOF XII otherwise for me !

Are you running IE 8 or 9 ? I have found that 9 is "not ready for prime time" and have reverted back to using IE 8. If you want to "roll back to IE 8" you can see this old thread which goes over what you need to do to go back to the previous IE install on your computer.

I don't have any issues running any version of Fusion going back to 7.5 under win 7 x64 so I would say that the issue is local to your computer. Fusion 10 was coded to work with windows XP and earlier as it writes to what is now a protected disk/file area which windows vista and 7 does not allow.

I think you will have a lot less OS problems using a more current version of the product that was written to comply with vista/7. It "should" not be necessary but it depends on how much time you want to put into trying to make old software run under a modern OS.

Problem resolved by Netobjects support...."The source where you purchased your NOF copy, explains it all. Just don't install anymore updates, only install NOF. This version that was sent out free with the IT magazines was a separate build from the official release"

My version of NOF10 I received free via a recent edition of PC Utilities magazine !
