    Default Versioning Crashing site

Using Fusion 10 under XP - Have been using Fusion for about 8 years so not completely new to it.

Recently updated a site which is running a set of stacked pages, guestbook and newsticker but is otherwise fairly straightforward text and images.
Site publishes fine and all is well .....

.... UNTIL I set up versioning.

With versioning set the site publishes but next time I try to the user site (.nod) file - it crashes the whole fusion application. No explanations just the " ... encountered a problem and has had to close". Only way out seems to be to delete the user site files and revert to a back up copy.

Tried changing repository paths etc., and have verified assets and generally made sure all seems tidy even rebuilt some of the new content - but each time get the same result. Can't see what is causing the problem.

    Any advise or assistance welcome

    Thanks

Well, I suppose you expect that something that is integrated in the program works..
And you might think, I'm not addressing your problem the right way....

But honestly, this way of saving a project was a flop from the start.
    Nobody really used this.
We have a very big forum here in Germany, thousands of members, and I only know a few, maybe three, you ever used
    this "versioning".

Why don't you create templates? Save them on external media, like external harddrive, CD/DVD, USB, whatever.....
Or create a special folder on your server, where you deposit your template, easy access for your or somebody else who wants to work on your project.

    Default Versioning crashes site

    Vielen Danke Mia

Well now you know someone else who has used versioning!. In fact have used it for quite some time on a couple of client sites and it has allowed them to make changes to content fairly successfully. OK it has occasionally been a bit temperamental but it has worked up until now.

SO .... from your comments - the feature is rubbish and can be expected to trash the application???

Is there a representative of Net Objects on the forum who might like to comment?

Am I really alone in the Net Objects world in using this?

I suppose if your are correct this could explain the disappearance of the N=Power colaborative application?

Any other views out there ??

    Thanks

I used it quite a bit a few years ago. It was another form of backup.
Problem was that - because it was on the web server - as the Site grew a bit
so it was taking longer and longer to open a site and then upload it again.
I even wrote a tut for it for V9 when it was first included. You're probably
right about the connection between N-power and NOF. Not as much use for it
now since N-power seems to have been dropped. Bit like page protection etc.
