    Default More Windows 7 issues

NOF 10 problem with Win 7 (64 bit), Internet Explorer 9

I got a free Version from a the UK PC Utilities Issue 138 computer magazine - in Help About my version is 10.00.0000.5030
Works fine in XP but as I have bought a new laptop with Win7, having problems with it hanging etc as other forum customers.
I have actioned all the instructions to run as Administrator etc but still having problems.

When I close a project or when I open NOF, sometimes get the error message on the welcome screen - http://netobjects.com/en/nof/10/00/ov/rss/xmlextras2.js

Also, my version of NOF10 does not have this java option http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4037
    Why is this?

Is there a solution to getting this free version of NOF10 running properly on Win7 or not?

    Thanks

version 10 was designed to run under windows xp. I have no problems running it under win 7 x64 but I use the retail box version. you can try rolling back to IE 8 and see if your issue is fixed (I use IE 8 because I need to run older versions of Fusion to supply support).

This old thread will go over how you can roll back to IE8

    Ok thanks.
I will try to roll back but will this maybe help with the program hanging or is this due to the box version?
If due to the box version, where can I download a proper copy for a test?

There should not be a difference between the free magazine copy and a retail box version other than the version number (and the free version cannot be upgraded with some of the later released patches).

I would roll back to IE 8 first. It is simple to do and just as simple to reinstall IE 9 at a later date if you want to.

Thanks, a lot more stable since rolling back to IE8.
NOF10 is a lot slower than 7.5 ie pages take ages to load in comparison when making changes etc. Hope next version is better.

the current version is 12 and it is very faster

Version 10 is 5 years old now and way out of date but a lot better than plugging away using notpad

    Sounds good.
However, I have read a few post regarding ver 12 and they mention it is unstable and causes many errors (still to be fixed from ver 11).
Is this your experience or is it worth the upgrade?
