There was a neighbor that had a tee shirt with the word MARGARINE on it and
below that it said:

Besides comments on butter an margarine this was the most interesting statement in this thread:

I agree Adrian, I wonder how the situation would be if there were no dedicated forums and communities to help out users. Sometimes I feel we must be out of our minds for keeping up with bugs and flaws of various versions on various OS.... It's good brain jogging though... and many of us still love NOF... however I may be getting too old for keeping track...

A group of parents at my daughter's school discussed on whether to start cleaning up the classrooms ourselves, since classrooms were dirty and untidy. But we then decided not to, because otherwise the school would have given us the responsibility to do so and would have cut on personnel even more.

At least in Germany NetObjects never needed to set up support structures (at least as far as I can remember), because the community was so strong and self sufficient.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and conjecture that one reason NOF doesn't fix all the bugs in the software is because it helps drive sales of upgrades. I know for me, that I thought by upgrading that many of the bugs would probably be fixed. However, as we've seen, there are still bugs in the application that have been around for many years and still not addressed. I would love to see the definitive list of what is considered a bug.

I was over in that WYSIWYG 7 forum taking a look and that product sounds interesting. It's only $45 !! It might be worth taking a look at.

My God, the first Edsel debut was in 1958? That's really interesting because
I recall the Edsel and all the negativity about it as having been in the mid
to late 60's! Interesting for sure but I suppose marketing and all that
worked a lot differently than our "more instant" world of today.

I'm surprised it's still available at that price; it was $50 for a long
time. I'd say go for it as it is actually a great product; just don't expect
fast bug fixes or any real support except for this newsgroup.
Upgrades are normally (and advertised as such) $109 with a Full Product
costing $199. And, when I was messing around with following the progress,
you were only allowed one competitive upgrade. You had to them buy a full
upgrade in order to get another competitive upgrade. And I've never seen the
cheaper $45/50 upgrades advertised or linked to on the NO website. I was
there a few days ago to see what worked and what didn't and there weren't
any new things at all that I could find; only a few links that quit working
long ago were taken down. I don't look at it having been outsourced to
Romanis as one poster said as a very good indicator.
Anyone have a link to anyplace it's sold except netobjects.com? I've
never found one at least. The only thing I feel sure of is that Netobjects
doesn't own it, which means they're getting a hefty payment for
selling/delivering the product to unsuspecting users who are unaware there
is no offical support for the app.
