    Default NOF XII DB Connector

I was having a problem with NOF IX, so I upgraded to NOF XII. Same problem. I'm trying to add database function to a new page on an existing site. When I try to place the php db connector on the page, NOF goes away and never comes back. I've done the following:
    Existing Site:
    1. export site as a template from NOF IX.
    2. import as a new site into NOF XII.
    3. Optimize the new site.
    4. Verify assets and delete unused assets.
    5. Save site and close it.
    6. Re-open site.
    7. Add page, and place connector. System locks up.
    New site:
    1. I tried setting up a new blank site.
    2. System locks up when placing db connector.

I don't know what to try next. It worked correctly once. After the page was partially developed, I optimized again, and the site went away.

I'm about ready to throw in the towel. I've used NOF for 10 years now, but maybe it's time to look for some other development tool.

Since I'm working with a local mysql database, I thought perhaps the problem was with the setup on my system. So, I wrote php code to connect to the database and display and select records. Worked fine...

Anyone have any ideas why the NetObject php db components won't work for me?

I can get to the database if I write my own php and mysql calls, so the database seems to be set up ok and accessible. What is unique about the netobjects components that causes the app to crash when I try to place the connector on a page?

Have you installed Java JRE 1.6.x and have you told Fusion to use it in Application Settings?

I had installed it, but didn't tell Fusion to use it. Not sure how I would have known that. It now works.

    Thanks, Chuck!
