    Default Maintaining existing Websites

I've been creating Websites for years, but after a HD crash did not want to pay $400 for the new version of Dreamweaver.

Bought Fusion XII - but cannot figure out how to get it to work with existing 'sites created with Dreamweaver.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get Fusion XII to download and edit pages created in Dreamweaver or any other publishing software? After all, every browser does it easily!

    Hi Bill,

Sad to say that you cannot maintain any Dreamweaver or any other pure HTML site with NOF because it is a HTML generator. So even if you download your existing sites you cannot import them into NOF and edit thereafter. Although NOF has an import feature it does not work as you might be used to. You'll have to use the site elements i.e, image, flash files, text etc to rebuild each site in NOF. It's an awesome program that makes site building easier but it is not a pure HTML editor which is what you need to maintain your existing sites.

    All the best,
    Steve

Here's a method I've used. Not perfect, but it works.
Copy your website to disk, using the same heirarchy as on the site.
Now start NOF and use File; New site; From Existing Web Site.
Point it at your web site now on your hard drive.
Regardless of what their docu says, you can NOT load a site from the
'net - it's seriously borked in that mode. But it can be read from your hard
    drive.

Once loaded, look it over because there are likely problems with Master
Borders and other minor things, but in general it's worked every time for
me. I've done it once with NOF 7.1 and two other times with NOF 11 for
    friends' sites.

Check that all your links still work; relative links should be OK, direct
links may not, depending on a few things.

    Luck,

    Twayne`

Why don't you just reinstall your old version of Dreamweaver again ?
