Default IE8 wont run NOF 12 actions

    Hi
I want to place a simple action on a button to record the date-time at click in a field using NOF 12. This is something I did in a site using NOF 9 and it worked okay. I used Date() in the expression variable in the set property>set value area of the action attached to a button.

In IE8, the action does not fire. In IE7, the action fires. In IE8, in compatibility mode, the action fires. In Google Chrome, the action fires (the details of the date look longer).

I have tried this on XP, Vista and a MS server machines and all results are the same.

The web pages have been loaded to the same web server.

So, it's not the web server, it's not the local OS. My conclusion is that it's either NOF or IE.

Or it may be me as I'm no guru with this stuff.

    Any help would be welcomed.

    Thanks

    Default Update to problem

    Hi
It seems that thsi is a common issue.

The way around it seems to be to switch IE8 compatibility mode on. This is, however, a poor answer as not everybody using IE 8 will know to do that.

    Compatibility mode - Menu>tools>compatibility view

    Thanks

If IE 8 detects older code you will see the compatibility icon in the location bar. It is a sheet of paper torn in half.

There will be a new option in the upcoming patch for Fusion 12 that allows you to enable quirks mode automatically in IE. This will help with the javascript firing issues.

Once the patch is released and installed, you can enable quirks mode via:
Tools > Options > Current Site > HTML Options > Use quirks mode doctype

    Sounds good, Mike.

Yet, by the time NOF gets Version 12's Update out and to us all, we may
have lost some business and a few sites that we can't do until more than
a few situations in Fusion 12 code are addressed.

    Is Update release imminent ?

Being a NOF Beta tester in the past, and having used it since version .9
(gadz... that's a long time...) I realize that there are things that we
Beta testers can advise or divulge, and things we can not.

Now the DMIB (Digital Men In Black) may pay BOTH of us a visit.

Regardless, many thanks for the "timetable" info...works for me.

But only if that Mike is the NOF Mike that I think he is.

Just wanted to make that perzactly clear. ....
