    Default Visual Lightbox query

    Hi Guys ... thanks to all ur informative posts on this site i hav started using VLB and think it is gr8 .. i hav a problem tho .. i published it in NOF 12 using an inline frame and all is working as it should except that the lightbox effect ie the enlarged photo and the overlay is all just occuring inside the inline frame area .. how can i get it to open up in the centre of the browser window ? ... here is my test site page so u can hopefully see what i mean ... http://www.test.featheredimage.com/h...rtraiture.html.... what is happening now is that the picture is opening to the centre point of the iframe which means u hav to scroll to see it ... i want it to appear in the centre of the browser window at whatever point of the page u r at .... any advice would b gr8ly appreciated ... cheers

    You need to use the instructions to embed the lightbox into the page rather than use an I-Frame.

    From the VLB web site:

    Part 7 - Add Visual LightBox inside your own page.

    Visual LightBox generates a special code. You can paste it in any place on your page where you want to add image gallery.

    * Export your LightBox gallery using Visual LightBox app in any test folder on a local drive.
    * Open the generated index.html file in any text editor.
    * Copy all code for Visual LightBox from the HEAD and BODY tags and paste it on your page in the HEAD tag and in the place where you want to have a gallery (inside the BODY tag).

    <head>
    ...
    <!-- Start Visual LightBox.com HEAD section -->
    .....
    <!-- End Visual LightBox.com HEAD section -->
    ... </head>
    <body>
    ...
    <!-- Start Visual LightBox.com BODY section -->
    .....
    <!-- End Visual LightBox.com BODY section -->
    ...</body>

    The HEAD section can be inserted from the Layout Properties panel by clicking on the [HTML...] button and pasting in the HEAD code.

    The body section can be incorporated simply by drawing a text box on the page to the WIDTH that you want the gallery to be, and using CTRL-T to paste the BODY code into the text box.

    My guess is the "engine" folder with the scripts did not get uploaded, or is in the wrong place.

    The default expects this to be in the same folder as the page calling it: portraiture.html. (You can put it elsewhere, but you would need to ensure all the calls reflect the proper path.)

    If this is the only gallery on the site, the easiest it to find this folder on your local drive where you generated the gallery, and upload it and all its contents into your /html/ folder. So you should have on your server (assuming your root directory is "public_html"):

    /public_html/html/portraiture.html
    and
    /public_html/html/engine/... with the /css/ and /js/ subfolders and files it contains.

    BTW, same goes for the "data" folder, but you must already have that uploaded into the right place or there would be no images.

    both folders ie data and engine (and contents) are in html folder .... i upload them seperately with cuteftp ... i was wondering about the 2 jquery callups ie engine/js/jquery.min.js in the VLB section of the HEAD and ../assets/jquery.js just after the VLB section ends but still in the HEAD section ... this was mentioned by someone on here but it all worked in the iframe and i hav tried changing it to get the VLB to call up the NOF native Jquery.js but that didnt work either ... this is going to b something small i know it lol but bloody frustrating at the moment ....

    We just went through a major effort getting a series of videos to play
    on our website in modal windows. The solution we ultimately went with
    was Floatbox. I expect it works similarly to VLB.

    What was finally successful was putting the movies and their html pages
    in a "movies" folder off the root folder. The Floatbox files are in
    their own folder off the root. There is Floatbox code in the HEAD tag.

    For each movie, I inserted the following code via textboxes/Control T in
    the body of the page:

    <a href="../movies/movie.html" class="floatbox"
    data-fb-options="type:video width:415 height:340 caption:``">
    <img id="Picture18" height="150" width="200"
    src="../assets/images/pic_movie.jpg" border="0" alt- "xxxxxxxxx"
    </a>

    The pic_movie.jpg image is a photo the visitor sees on the page. When
    the visitor clicks on the photo, the modal window opens and behaves as
    an iframe, running the movie from the movie.html page in the movies folder.

    Hope it helps,
    Allison

    Thanks Allison .. but i hav lots of images that will need coding for and VLB does it all inhouse so to speak ... the frustrating thing is that i know it works coz Thomas Freu Herrmann on this forum has it working fine (amongst others .. i know Frank from Tassie does also) so i just need to figure out why its not calling up the lightbox when i embed it without an iframe ... its going to b something small i know it but its worth persisting coz its a brilliant program to use just seems its a bit fiddly with NOF but once i get it right then should b easy from then on ... if any1 out there has any ideas i would gr8ly appreciate it .... I now hav tried ctrl t in text box in a layout region that is set to xhtml output and still no luck .. get thumbnails ok but no lightbox feature .... thanks
    Just noticed an error message on the landscape plus page where i am trying the embedding in the layout region .. this is what it says .. does this make sense to any1 ????

    Yet another dark, little corner of NOF I've never looked at, or even knew existed.

    Glad you got it working.

    Ray, you must be THE most valued member of this forum. I see your name everywhere. For noobs like me guys like you are just a lifesaver. Heres a small point, but one i feel is absolutely bang on. You have spent ages helping us here.... but... EVERY website i go on now has lighbox gallery effects. WHY on earth is this simple but vital effect not included in Fusion? Surely WYSIWIG software SHOULD FOCUS on these priorities.

    I just downloaded MUSE and i have to say unless Netobjects pull there finger out and get more mainstream there gonna lose it big time!
    Maybe you could use your influence with the Fusion peeps on this one?
    Best regards, david.
