Thread: Publishing problems

    Default Publishing problems

In trying to get my site published, I checked run as program administrator under NOF properties. I then try to local publish and it goes to the next screen which is site preview. Then I return to publish and try to remote publish and get the window reading; Base directory C:\ProgramFiles\NetObjects\NetObjectsFusionEssenti als\UserSites\drmiltonschulz\LocalPublish\home.htm l does not exist. Would you like to create it? I indicate yes and the next screen goes to FTP connection and then window comes up saying; Unable to set base directory.
This is getting ridiculously frustrating. I have been messing with this for two weeks.

    Default Cannot remote publish

When I use local publish it goes beyond so I assume it was successful in saving to C-drive, but when I attempt to remote publish, I get message Base directory C:\~~~~~~~~~~~~does not exist. Would you like to create it? I click yes and it redirects to FTP connection screen wher I then get window Unable to set base directory.

    Suggestions?

I've moved your question to the essentials group and merged both topics into one for you,

You need to use the settings your web host gives you for your remote publish settings.

Here are a couple of tutorials I have written for customers who host with me (the details will be different for your web host but the method will be the same) Some are for different versions of Fusion but you should get the idea. Ask your host what settings you need to use.

I don't get the idea. The first tutorial is for essentials product and I already accessed it and did all of that. Other two tutorials are for 11 and I don't have those screen options in my product. Sorry! I am a newbie and am just learning this stuff.

Can you do a screen capture of what you have in your remote publish settings and post it? This would help greatly to figure out what you have.

As an alternative you can local publish and use a 3rd party FTP program like filezilla to upload to your hosting account.

Dunno how to do a screen capture! I have Filezilla downloaded so may attempt to use it to upload site. Don't quite understand the difference if my pc is saying there is no base directory (local publish -?), but dunno till I try it.
