    Default Page titles

    Hi

    My website http://www.crsupportservices.co.uk
    has webpages names like:
www.crsupportservices.co.uk/html/office_cleaning.html, this is generated by NOF XII

I would like to have my pages like:
www.crsupportservices.co.uk/office_cleaning.html , without the HTML in between, is there a way around this? does anybody knows?

You will have to change the publishing structure of your site. Under the publishing tab, go to "arrange files" -"by flat". That's all it takes.

You need to switch your publishing method to flat. This gotFusion tutorial goes over the various publishing methods

Since you will be changing where all of your files and folders are kept you will need to clean up your work files/folders as well as your hosting files/folders and do a full publish in the new method. Another gotFusion tutorial will explain this in detail.

If you have a halfway reasonably sized site, having everything shoved into the root folder is not really a good idea. A better way to do this is to use the Apache mod_rewrite module to rewrite the urls on the fly. I believe this can also be done with PHP. A little googling should help you.

Microsoft IIS also has a free URLrewrite add-on I have used it in some testing but don't know much about its actual implementation or functionality with NOF websites, but it works.

Its primary function is to hide (obfuscate?) any url variables that you might be passing, but I believe I read that it will also simplifiy URLs.
