Default navbar drop down menu covered up

When the drop down menu on the master banner drops it is covered or partially covered by the layout area below and can't be read. If I put the navbar in the layout area it covers anything below and is readable. I don't want to make the master banner so big it will accommodate the biggest menu, nor do I want to have to put a navbar in the layout area on each page. What will make the menu behave in the banner area like it does in the layout area?

    emercoll,

It sounds like you are possible using frames in the Master Border? The Navbar flyouts won't cross over frames. On the Master Border Properties palet, on I think the 4th tab, make sure that there are no frames checked.

    Just a thought,

've come across that before. You might have to set the Z order to bring the
bars forward so they'll go on top of everything. Bring them to the top
    layer.

Thank you, David. That was it. I also was not clearing out my preview folder and local publish folder before checking changes, which gave me false results. Between the two it works.
