Thread: Missing text in Home page after publishing.

Default Missing text in Home page after publishing.

I have been using Netobjects Fusion 10 for several months now for our local park Friends Group without any problems.
I am currently having a problem with the home page. I have deleted two blocks of text and replaced them with four blocks of text, two of which have internal links to Pages in the website.
I have published the entire site locally and when it opens in my browser it looks fine. All the text is there and the links work fine.
When I transfer the entire site to the server I find when the Home page displays the new blocks of text are missing. If I then open another page in the website and then return to the Home page the site works normally. I have tried deleting the four blocks of text and redoing them with the same result. Also I have tried deleting all the files on the server by using the Remote pane and then re-publishing with no success.
How can I correct this problem?
    Thank you
    David Haworth

Try using a force browser reload (hold your control key and press function key F5)

If you still see the old page, compare the page extension as you may have inadvertently created 2 opening pages with different extensions.

Thank you for your help on this matter.
I had indeed inadvertently created two opening pages. By using the Remote pane to connect to the server I can delete the incorrect opening page. The page that has the latest info for the site is index.HTM and the out of date page index.html.
Every time I transfer files to the server Netobjects generates this out of date page index.html which it defaults too.
How can I prevent this from happening?
    Thank you
    David

Take a look at this tutorial: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4064

Make sure the setting in the drop down is HTML

Then take a look at this tutorial: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutsTD/siteviewpalettes.cfm

Make sure your home (index) page is set to HTML

Then go over and follow this tutorial: http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4029

After you have gone through all of the tutorials listed above, remove all of the documents on your remote server and do a full remote publish.

I followed the three tutorials that you suggested and this has solved the problem I was having.
I think the advice on cleaning up the Web Site files was particularly useful.
    Thanks for your help.
