    Default Windows or Linus hosting

    Hey Mike or anyone else

I am using Nof12 and just moved hosting to "GoDaddy" and am now having problems with forms handler upload (see my 2 previosos posts in the forum). I contacted my hosting provider with my issue and their response is as below. .
    My questions are:
    1. Do I have to switch from a Linux hosting to a Windows hosting to get my form handler to work as recommended below, or can I change something in NOF to accommodate Linux hosting.
    2. Are there any advantages/disadvantages with either (windows, linux) seeing that I am using NOF12

Thank you for contacting Online Support.
understand you have an issue with your contact form. It appears that you are using a .asp based website, however you are using our Linux hosting plan You will need to use our Windows hosting to support .asp based websites.

    Thanks for your help

This link could answer your question about using an asp based website. http://www.aspvsphp.com/

You have to use what ever you host supports.

Switching between ASP and PHP generation is as simple as selecting one or the other on the current site properties palette.

All my sites are on a Linux host, not a problem in sight.

]Hi Mike, thanks very much for your help.

Followed your tutorials and switched from asp to php.

That seems to have fixed most of my problems, however upon clicking the “Submit” button in my form I receive the below error

An error occured. Please contact the site administrator.
    Error code: 701

    Website - http://www.bacabecopark.com

Had it working perfectly before moving over to GoDaddy
Any direction you could point me in would be appreciated
    Thanks again

You are missing the upload folder. Follow the tutorial on running the DB creation wizard (link to the wizard is within the component).

It is far simpler to use 123contactform to do your processing

    Mike,

Took your advice with 123contact form and have it working.
Will deal with form handler at a later date

I guess the same will apply for guestbook and testimonials, correct.

    Thanks,

    Giovanni

If your host only supports PHP they you need to use PHP for everything. You only need to select it once in the site properties palette. All components will use what ever you set.

Hi, my site is starting to grow actively, I have more and more users registering on the site every month, communicating, sharing my content. I want to strengthen the security of my users' information. Cheap hosting is usually with poor user data security, right? Is it worth it to switch to a more expensive one?
