Default How do I add a "glow" or "shadow" to a layout region?

I'm not very tech savvy and don't truly understand a web designers vocabulary BUT I do know how to use NOF12...somewhat. Knowing that, can anyone help me create a glow or shadow surrounding a layout region?

The easy way is to use our EZRound product.

You can add a glow border on one or more sides, with rounded corners, drop
    shadows and other special effects.

You can download a free trial from:
    http://www.ezround.com

For on-page designs we have a Universal Import tutorial for NOF users here:
    http://www.ezround.com/html/universal.html

For a full-page effect ( such as a border around the entire page ) we have
    a NOF tutorial here:
    http://www.ezround.com/centered/

EZRound is simple to use with a point and click interface ( no graphic
design talent needed ) and it is a nice way to breath new life into the
    standard NOF site styles.

Download a copy and give it a try!

    Good luck on your projects!

Thanks. I'll check it out. It's what I'm looking for only I'm wondering if NOF12 can handle it rather than downloading another program.

This sort of thing is accomplished with a background image, or a series of background images, carefully sized and aligned. There are a few ways to go about it. EZ-Round is simply a tool to simplfy the process using one of these methods.

Take a look at the Net Objects site, for example, that has a grey shadow or glow around it. The main layout has this image in the background:
    http://netobjects.com/assets/images/background.png

At the top of the page, in the header, there is this background image, which aligns with the body:
    http://netobjects.com/assets/images/header.png

And again, for the footer, this image:
    http://netobjects.com/assets/images/footer.png

They all combine to create a sort of box around the content area.

The other method is to create a large table, and in the outer cells insert graphics that piece together like a puzzle to create a box. You will have 8 different images for top, bottom, left side, right side, and the four corners. This is the method EZ-Round applies.

So, to answer your "real" question, NOF doesn't have a function to do this for you. But you can accomplish this with NOF using a few tricks of the trade.
