Thread: NetObjects Fusion XII Update #2

Upadte 2 has done nothing to fix the forms handler problem that has been pointed out since Sept 2011 by many users, there is no possibility of adding an action to a form nor can you choose a method to submit your form.

It is very ufortunate that convereted all my client sites to NOF 12 all the form no longer work, including a brand new NOF 12 site built from one of your templates.

I would like to apologize for my panic, there is a method that I can get those fields back, if I make the table not be a form and then make back into a form the missing fields in the property pallette will reappear, however all the hidden fields will have to be re-entered.

This also works if your Layout Region is a form or a text box is a form.

It would have been nice if update 2 had made the process automatic so one does not have to go through 30+ sites and fix all the forms one by one.

90% of my sites are imports from NOF 11 the other 10% are made with NOF 12 so I will be spending the next few days or so fixing all of them.

We are all hoping, either secretly or out in the open, that NOF 12
Update 2a -- or whatever the eventual level 2 Update is called -- will
FIX the sometimes major problems left behind when NOF 12 (aka XII)
originally and Update #1 was released.

There's no sense in an Update #2 that covers meager simplicity problems,
and otherwise leaves users in the dust. Update #2's list of fixes
obviously omitted the major problems user still have.

At least I got the answer to my earlier question as to whether the problems in Update 2 had been fixed. It obviously needs more work before it sees the light of day.

The #2 update works just fine if you install it over a fresh retail install. It has problems when installed on an install that has the 1st update applied. If you want or need the fixes of the #2 update and have already installed the #1 update you need to uninstall the program, reinstall the retail product and only apply the #2 update. Works perfect if you follow those steps.

By "server" I was simply referring to whatever server, local or remote, you
are using. As long as the versions of PHP, ASP, whatever match, it shouldn't
matter which you use, local or remote.
Since you say a local publish is perfect, but uploading to "your" server,
which I assume is a remote server, it's not loading, I'd actually suspect
something wrong with your NOF ftp setup.

Temporarily, since you say you can publsh locally (your "own" server"), try
doing the local publish and use something other than NOF to ftp the data up
    to your site.

Your original problem has disappeared from the posts, so restating that
along with OS & version, NOF version, ftp program & version and anything
else releavant might be a good idea to get you more responses. Most people,
myself included, won't reassemble a thread to see what's been stripped off
    of the OP's original question.
E.G., I'm running NOF 11 on XP Pro SP3, NOF update 1, have checked for
malware as best I can with ... have 4 Gig of RAM installed with 22 Gig of
    unused disk space.

So give Gotfusion's advice a try and if no joy, come on back with more
    details as indicated above.

    HTH,

    Twayne`

I glanced thru the posts and suggest Gorfusion's suggestion as the better of
    the bunch so far.

You are the GURU here, but I beg to disagree with the uninstall business, I run windows 7 Pro, NOF 12 Update1 and installed update 2 beta last night and it installs and runs just fine, the bugs in the software are what the major problem is and that is what really needs to be addressed.

I will NOT install Update 2 under these conditions. NOF needs to fix update 2 to eliminate this problem before I'll install it. Asking a user to uninstall and reinstall the base program to install a fix is unreasonable and ridiculous.
