That's intersting.
Previously I had a major problem with international spam.
So I had to restrict certain IP ranges.

Hi Paul

I was getting 'forbidden' too. Now I can see it I'd suggest that you
look to optimise your images to speed things up a little too. I'd
lighten them too as they do seem very dark.

For example, I was easily able to lighten and compress one of your
images
(http://www.curlycords.com.au/assets/...00119__2_a.jpg)
from 55.6KB down to 15KB, using the GIMP and come up with a better
looking image.

Since I can't paste them here as examples, I'd suggest you pasts the URL
into http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/ and check the 'show
all results' box to see what can be achieved with compression.

That particular image I just renamed yesterday...so it's not displaying now.

That is a great site you listed.
It's really good to see the effect the compression has immediately.

So what I have done previously, Most (not all) images I have are taken
with my Sony A350 14.2 Mega pixel DSLR camera,
Then using Paint.net (not MS Paint) I crop the image, and resize it to
30% Original Size, A couple I have adjusted the brightness. (But mostly
I have not)
Then place the image on the page using Fusion, and resize it even
smaller to fit where I want it, and tell it to use Best Jpeg setting.
I thought this would be appropriate.
It seems there is a lot more size we could reduce by changing the
compression even further.

Do you feel the optimisation within fusion is sufficient?

Also it's interesting what you say about the brightness.
On my main monitor they all look great.
But, when I move it to my other monitor, I agree they mostly look too dark.

Clearly my monitors are configured differently.

Hi Paul

Because I don't upload large numbers of images each day I have the time
to edit them individually - otherwise the NOF optimisation could be
attractive. Those that are too dark I lighten using GIMP's curves tool
http://www.gimp.org/. I also use a calibrated monitor so that I know
that they look as intended when published (although I can't control how
they are viewed, of course), so you might consider investing in a
low-end colorimeter such as the spyder3

want to buy (or make

a light tent too.

And I am concerned that the page width is too wide.

Yeah your site is really to wide and I think you have fix it. If you are not an expert in this then I would highly recommend you to hire an website designer or expert from freelancer's platforms like fiverr, upwork, freelancer, etc.
