    Default Background NOT tiling?

    I am trying to have a different background around my print. I've already added the table so I can have a different color through the page. AND this displays correctly (the colors are close ffffcc & fffcc) It's the currently published website at http://www.meadowbrookeducation.com or see picture here:https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    My problem is that I cannot get my background image to tile - on my site, even though it tiles in the Style page graphic view. where it looks like this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    and the CSS code looks like this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    In the preview (not publish) screen my page looks like this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    HEre is a link to what it looks like in my Page window: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    PLease let me know what I'm doing wrong?
    or what issues I need to be checking for - Thanks!

    Do you also have a background color set in your SiteStyle? Try clearing the background color setting in your SiteStyle to see if that works. One may be overriding the other.

    The sitesyle gives me 3 choices: 1) automatic; 2) transparent or 3) a #color: I've tried choosing both automatic and transparent, no difference I still only get 1 tile displayed in the upper right corner of the page. Any more ideas?

    If you look at the style.css it looks like:
    BODY {
    font-family:Arial;
    font-size:14px;
    background-repeat: repeat ;
    background-color : rgb(184,150,41)}

    There is no reference to what file should be tiling. Add a background-image reference.
    Something like:
    background-image : url( "../assets/images/bkgnd804.jpg" );
    background-repeat : repeat;

    This can even be a full, direct URL.

    Also the background-color tag does come after the repeat in your style sheet so it might be an issue too.

    [update] I do see the image reference in your Picasa image post but it's not there in the style.css that I see from viewing the page source & style.css directly.

    I did not publish the 1 tile site. I changed it back to a solid color because it worked. I would really really like the tiled background.

    I'm confused - here's the link to how it looks on my screens today - 1 square tile again, overlayed on a background color of gold. - Again my intention is that we only have the tiled image for a background.

    here is the preview (not published) https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    here is the css style code https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    here is the style page graphic display https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    here is the design view of the home page https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    here is part of the html code https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

    Any more suggestions?
    Thanks so much!

    I would do two things.
    First would be to create a fresh, test NOD to focus on just getting the page to show the tiling. Only do local publish. Keep it super simple.
    Once the test site works you'll have a reference as to what to do to the live site.

    The other thing is to change the relative reference of the tile image to a full, absolute reference - even if that reference is to your ./assets/images folder. It doesn't look pretty but it removes doubt as to whether the site can pull in the image file.
    So make it (like) http://www.meadowbrookeducation.com/...es/dcizgju.png or http://www.meadowbrookeducation.com/...en/dcizgju.png. Or whatever the actual path is. And BTW, both those paths fail but of course the file could be stored anywhere. Verify with an FTP program that the file really is there.

    this can be fixed easy in page view, text menu, manage styles, body tag, background tab, set to automatic

    I did what you suggested

    In the Style screen and the small preview screen, the background shows up beautifully, however, no difference using the preview tab from the menu... I'll have to start a test website.

    The only thing I can think of is that I added a table in the master border so I could have the cream backgound where the text is - maybe that code is interfereing with the pictures? I'm slightly confused becuase when I just use color it looks exactly how I would want the tiles to look.

    if for example the Layout is set to bg image none instead of automatic in layout property palette, then you will not see a bgimage, regardless of the settings in the style

    the same goes for text boxes and layout regions and tables

    -Here's what I found: I had to change the picture option in BOTH the Masterlayout css and the layout css. Don't know why, but there it is. I'm testing with a preview right now - and I have to check and see if I have to do this to every page or not. - But I wanted to thank you for your time and insights. As you can probably tell, I'm a noob!
