I have a 78-page site using NOF-7 - (I'm posting here because (a) the
ver7 group gets little traffic, and part of my question involves ver. 12)
The site is published by directory, as I have a couple different
"member" sections that use passwords.
Within the site I have a good number of PDF files.
What I want to do is delete several (6-8) pages around the site, which
will change the index etc.
My inclination is to do this in NOF-7, as I do not have the time at the
moment to get up-to-speed with version 12, although I do have it on my
new computer (the site and NOF-7 are on my laptop). I do export the site
to template every time I do an update (meaning once or twice a day).
I also have an FTP program and can use it, although most times the
NOF-FTP works fine.
My hesitation in simply making the page cuts and republishing the entire
site is the (a) time involved (although I am on hi-speed wi-fi), which
(b) lends itself to errors republishing all those PDFs - which will NOT
change during the sites restructuring -- the PDF files and their
placement will remain the same.
If you were doing this, how would you proceed? Is there a process you've
found that leads to fewest errors or down-time?
Thanks for your suggestions.
