Question Moving website to new computer

I am realy hoping someone here can help me. I created my website on my old PC using NOF Essentials and Windows XP. I managed to find instructions on how to export my website as a template to my new laptop (Windows 7). I downloaded NOF Ess onto the laptop and I can update my website no problem. What I am stuck with is publishing. The website will Locally Publish (albeit with a couple of error messages) but it will not Remote Publish. I checked all the FTP usernames/passwords etc on my old PC and copied them over to the laptop but this has not helped. Is there something I have not done when moving the website over? I am not very 'up' on website terms so any help would be appreciated in layman's terms.
    TIA

Are you running essentials with admin rights?

Install a 3rd party FTP program and see if you can connect with that.

This tutorial will go over how to install filezilla for the hosting I provide. The tutorial will give you the download URL for the software and the basic steps to set it up but you will need to get the connection details from your web host (DON'T use the ones I provide for my customers)

If you can't connect with filezilla then the issue is with your log in details and you will need to contact your web host.

Great thanks. Setting to Run as Administrator seems to have done the trick. My new problem is my updated website only appears in my IE and not in Google Chrome. Any ideas?

Magic. Thanks. Now I can get on with a full update of my site. Just hope I can remember how to do everything else now.
