Took a brief look around in Fusion 12 thread and seen a few people talking of errors in 12. Just have to ask like many who may have, or is wondering. Is Fusion 12 worth getting, any real major advantages from 11 that would absolutely make it worth getting. Can 12 handle all of Fusion 11's made websites?
I see it is half price for the time being.

Most of the changes in XII are "under the hood" things. So there are (IMHO) no whiz-bang, show stopper, game changer, world turner, type new features. Not like when they added the AJAX Multi-Layout Region stuff.

You can now generate HTML that is strictly made from <DIV> tags rather than tables, if you care about that sort of thing. Others may disagree, but I think it is more stable than v.11, and is officially compatible with Windows 7.

All of the components, as far as I can tell, are the same. I tend not to use them, so I don't really notice.

All your v.11 sites will work in XII, but you still must obey the "Export to Template" from v.11 then import to XII to ensure stability.

I'd wager that a new version is at least a year or more away, so at 50% off, my feeling is it is a good time to upgrade.

Some where I thought I heard that this was going to be the last version and from here on out there might just be free upgrades to 12 so we never have to worry about if and when another version is coming out. Of course that just might be a rumor so who knows. Thank you for your assessment of 12. While 50% off is of course a great deal for people like myself who have limited funds I still have to weigh rather it will pay to switch or not, and not spend anything.

Serif Webplus has done that for a while, and the company itself seems to be alive and kicking and the price is very similar.

I would personally prefer to stay with Netobjects, having used it almost exclusively for several years, but have myself abstained from upgrading to 12 ( I still use, and have many sites in, 11) as there didn't appear to be anything substantially different about 12 to warrant spending extra money.

The lack of input from NOF does not inspire any confidence in the products future, and you may well be right about this being the last version.
On the other hand, if the phoenix arose from the ashes with a worthwhile upgrade, I'd still part with some money

There has been FUD generated about NoF's demise by its competitors for almost as long as I can remember (and that's a long time!) The one time in its history when I was truly fearful that it might disappear was after Lotus shed it (around 2002) and before WSP picked it up. I did investigate alternatives but none appeared that was even remotely competitive with NoF.

Since then, NoF has gone through a couple of rough patches but IMHO under the current management (as much as I know about them, anyway) is probably in as good shape for the future as it has been since the Lotus days.

I do know they are working on a number of things that are not maybe WOW! type things but will improve NoF's market reach. Also you need to be cognizant of the fact that the traditional web site viewed in a PC is on its way out. Web 2.0 has been here for quite a long time now, and web 3.0 is well underway (ubiquitous network, multi-device accessibility, true interactivity, etc). Any company that's going to be around for long in the future in this marketplace is going to have to be developing for it now.

Interesting to say the least. I guess it would be a good thing to really know if fusion is going to be around for the long haul.
I am seeing more and more sites being developed by Joomla, although in ways it can be expensive. Of course I guess I never liked Fusion for always having to pay around 100 a pop for new upgrades unless you can get it for half price. So far it seems they have not made 12 anything worth going after in terms of big major improvements, so I may be sticking with 11 a bit longer.

I had really really hoped they would have developed their own CMS and had it work seamlessly with in Fusion without having to use 3rd party CMS programs but such is not the case yet.
I would still like to hear other people's thoughts on this if anybody else has any input toward this. Thank you everyone for all the input so far.

Especially for those NOF 11 users that remained with NOF 11...

NOF 12, especially after three (so far) Updates, contains a great many
bug fixes and corrections in output code that were never fixed or
addressed in NOF 11.

As far as NOF 12 being the last of the breed, with essentially no charge
product fixes being supplied ?

Not in your lifetime, people.

IMHO:
I'd say the increase in problems with 12 under the hood or not (they still
show up as bugs - worse than version 11). If you don't have version 11, the
latest halfway good release, then 12 might save you a couple bucks - most of
the bugs have workarounds. But if you have 11, 12 turns into a giant step
backwards.

Have to agree there Twayne.
I have found 11 the most stable and works well in Windows 7, on the other
hand NOF12 causes windows 7 to go into compatible mode when I publish
anything and... frequently locks up/crashes whenever I use the in-line
iframe tool or try and reposition an image using the curser arrow keys.
Also... there is still an on-going issue with nav bar end caps that don't
work in vertical sub menus. Still not fixed!
I feel that the problems still outweigh the benefits, stick with NOF11!
