Glad I checked here because I'm about to start my grand jQuery experiment, and this should hopefully ease the pain.

    Two questions:
    1. Must I first install the Grundpaket in order to install and use jQuery Datei von NOF ersetzen ?
    2. Any faint chance of English versions of the PDF Manuals?

I know you've got tutorials on your site that I can translate via Google Translate. But I always get lost at the part where Google tells me to do something with a banana.

    Hi Ray,

no - you don't need the "Grundpaket" (basic package), this was just the first package which came all together from Stefan (and I kept it together).

Any of these components is working by itself and you just execute the .exe file in your NOF "Components" folder.

You just hook "Replace NOF-jQuery" in your publishing view and publish any page where an existing NOF-jQuery is located. It does only change an existing jQuery of NOF. If there is no jQuery of NOF it will not add the latest one of Google.

Just make sure if you use VISTA or WINDOWS 7 to install "as administrator" (right click on .exe) - not necessary on Windows XP.

This does nothing but extracting a folder (no changes on your windows at all). If you might not want it anymore just delete this folder again.

Please close your NOF always before you install any of these components.

I have watched my German a bit so that the Google-translator should be good enough on any of my pages (it's on the bottom of all my pages). All components must be installed exactly the same way - switch to English and read it again:

... tip - try the "Local Web Server" too - it's smashing

I would suggest to download everything and decide later what to use and what not. We will come soon with more, really nice tools . Be exited.

If you have more questions - just ask. We might consider to establish an English translation too.

You are also welcome to get support in our German forums (in English) or here (does not matter) - no problem at all.

Please give me a feedback on all of this. We need to know if somebody might have problems.

When publishing using the local webserver I get the following error message:

Name:	ScreenShot001.jpg
Views:	444
Size:	16.6 KB
ID:	1185

The local webserver never gets to an install. The same error occurs when using the local webserver for Internet Explorer; in that case the error comes at line 2082.

... you have installed it in the wrong folder. This is the ONLY component (it's not really a component - it' an extra application) which does not belong in the system folder "Components"

Delete it and install it again in the NetObjects program folder, something like ...

    ... for example, Windows XP:

    C:\Program Files\NetObjects

The NOF Web Server looks cool! I have MOWES installed on a USB stick, but I'm always too lazy to use it.

Now if only it could set up and use a MySQL database...

    Tommy,

Thanks for your quick response. It works as planned. I should have read the manual first ...

Just found this because I haven't checked the suggestions forum for about 2 years. I'm downloading now and hopefully will starting playing. If I have real problems I can email them to my sister who speaks fluent German (she was at Freiburg University. I'm the thicky in the family).

    Hi,

I have written an English installation guide (click on the flag)

    http://www.tommyherrmanndesign.com/n...p#Installation

Please use in addition the Google-Translator (it's on the bottom of my pages), even if the translation might be a bit odd you should get an idea.
